Job Summary:

Within the framework of the objectives and policies established by Hospital Administration, plans and coordinates perioperative clinical and procedural services with patients, medical staff and administrative systems. Responsible to create and drive an exceptional Perioperative service department that embodies MIHS mission and values. Assists with the development of a strategic plan for multiple service line development; and planning and marketing all perioperative service lines. Develops processes through the continuum of care that supports outcomes specific to patient flow, customer satisfaction and efficiency. Position is responsible for patient care through unit management directed toward safe patient care, staffing, and policy adherence to support regulations and patient care standards, and financial oversight will be consistent with unit budgets and customer and employee satisfaction. Individual must be able to guide change process though leadership influence rather than authority.

Qualifications:

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing; or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in related field. Must have at least five (5) years of clinical experience within the service line with two to three (2-3) years demonstrated leadership experience relevant to the patient population and scope of care of the department. Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license; or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.  Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.  Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months. CNOR is preferred.  ACLS, PALS, ATNC, or other certifications may be required. Must have demonstrated competence in service line management, streamlining and coordinating clinical services beyond traditional boundaries of discipline and department specific performance improvement including the integration of clinical, quality, and financial outcomes.  Requires demonstrated experience in facilitating and implementing a strategic planning process with specific outcomes.  Must have previously demonstrated experience in leading a successful change process with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians and healthcare providers; and demonstrated knowledge of managing and meeting budget outcomes.  Must be able to read, write and speak English.
