Summary

Clinical Nurse

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), the Clinical Nurse delivers professional, age-specific nursing care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role is responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care while supporting positive clinical outcomes in a diverse healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled nursing care across the lifespan in accordance with professional standards

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and administer medications

  • Identify nursing problems and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care

  • Provide or delegate care in alignment with Valleywise Health policies and procedures

  • Serve as a patient advocate and educator, promoting patient understanding and engagement

  • Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and required records

  • Provide indirect supervision and support to ancillary staff as assigned

  • Participate in team building, quality improvement, and performance enhancement initiatives

Professional Practice:

  • Demonstrate professional nursing judgment, accountability, and ethical practice

  • Promote comprehensive, cost-effective, and patient-centered care

  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing clinical environment

 
Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice:
    • Surgical Trauma: Must have ACLS upon hire or transfer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
