Summary

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, and under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, age-specific patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This role supports safe, high-quality care by assisting with daily patient needs and promptly communicating changes in patient condition.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care across the lifespan in accordance with established standards
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and comfort measures
  • Obtain and document vital signs and patient observations
  • Perform assigned clinical procedures and patient-related tasks as directed
  • Observe, report, and promptly communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the supervising Nurse or Physician
  • Accurately document all care provided and patient interactions in the medical record
  • Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment

  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and compassion in all patient interactions
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication within the healthcare team
  • Contribute to quality improvement and a culture of safety
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88
 
The night shift pay differential will be paid at 18% of the employee's base rate of pay. The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at 8% of the employee's base rate of pay.
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
  • Prefers at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience.
Specialized Training:
  • Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
  • Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
