As the Med/Surg Clinical Practice Educator, you will have the opportunity to be part of an academic teaching medical center. The Med/Surg Practice Educator will be instrumental in mentoring new to nursing, new to service, and new to skill set employees. This position will oversee the RN new grad program, the preceptor program, and the education for float pool staff and observation unit staff. This position will be instrumental in their onboarding, orientation, professional growth, and ongoing continuing education and support. Your skills and experience will be critical in developing an orientation curriculum to ensure ongoing staff competency and to facilitate positive environments for clinical learning and professional development.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Med/Surg Practice Educator include onboarding and orientation, assessment of competence, continuing education needs, development of programs to assist in professional growth for our new graduate nurses, preceptors, observation unit staff, IRP, and float pool. You will work collaboratively with the clinical practice team and leadership to ensure world-class patient care delivery. The ideal candidate would have a strong medical/surgical care background.

Annual salary range: $79,913.60 - $117,873.60
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
-
Prefer Master’s degree in Nursing.
Experience:
-
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible RN clinical practice or clinical educator/instructor experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certification/licensure:
-
Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license; or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.

Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association upon hire.

BLS Instructor required within six months of hire.

Prefer professional nursing certification such as Nurse Professional Development or clinical area specific (ONS, etc.).

Additional life support instructor or other certifications may be required based on areas of responsibility.
