The Director of Foundation Institutional Giving identifies, defines, and develops funding sources to support the existing and future program and capital needs identified by Valleywise Health. The Director of Foundation Institutional Giving will be responsible for cultivating relationships with current and future funding partners and generating revenue from current and prospective grant-making organizations in support of the mission of Valleywise Health. Primary responsibilities include identifying, preparing, and submitting grant applications, working with the Valleywise Health Grants Team to approve the grant funding, and preparing and submitting all compliance and reporting requirements. This position is also responsible for developing and managing a grant funding calendar and tracking system for current and upcoming funding opportunities and requisite reports for grant compliance and requirements.
 
Annual Salary Range: $86,444.80 - $127,504.00
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
  • Seven (7) years of experience in nonprofit grant writing or a related field.
  • Prefer healthcare fundraising experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to operate as a tactical, strategic thinker. 
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise good judgment, and achieve results.
  • High-level writing and research skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading.
  • Ability to effectively work with senior management and board members.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in philanthropy, ethics, research and cultivation practices, and fundraising techniques related to corporate, foundation, and government agency relations. This includes face-to-face solicitation and proposal writing. 
  • Experience with development operations functions, including prospect research and reporting.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and CRMs.
  • Ability to collaborate and multitask.
