The Director of Foundation Marketing and Strategy is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the Foundation's marketing and stakeholder engagement. As a member of the Foundation’s leadership team and reporting to the Valleywise Health Foundation CEO/Sr. VP, this position leads the development and execution of marketing strategies that align with Valleywise Health's goals while fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture. Responsibilities include leading a high-performing team, managing internal staff and external contractors/agencies in marketing, events, and donor database, ensuring seamless integration of communication, fundraising data insights, and event strategies to maximize donor engagement and philanthropic impact. This position also oversees the analysis and reporting mechanisms to enhance fundraising effectiveness and marketing initiatives while optimizing marketing budgets. Additionally, this position manages and presents results and recommendations, and plays a key role in elevating grant proposals, corporate partnerships, events, and donor communication strategies. This role requires a data-driven, results-oriented leader blending marketing expertise with donor analytics and strategic goal setting to enhance the Foundation’s impact.
Annual Salary Range: $97,240.00 - $143,436.80
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (MBA preferred).
Experience:
- Must have at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in leading marketing strategy, with a strong track record of success in brand management, digital marketing, and strategic communications, and experience with grant writing, corporate proposals, and donor engagement strategies, particularly in the nonprofit or healthcare sector.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to inform decision-making and optimize campaign performance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Must be a strong writer, presenter, and communicator.
- Must have experience designing, implementing, reporting, and analyzing content communication strategies.
- Knowledge of healthcare services and physician relations preferred.
- Must possess excellent guest relations and communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and other interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership.
- Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team.
- Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time, and other resources to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.
- Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills and utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control, and coordinate activities.
- Must manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively.
- Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff, and senior leadership.
- Must demonstrate necessary discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
