As the Women's and Children's Director of Nursing at Valleywise Health, you will help celebrate our rich history as we transition into our new hospital while laying the foundation for a strong future serving our staff, patients, and community partners. Valleywise Health is the area's only public teaching health system. Annual Salary Range: $127,940 - $188,718
Qualifications
Education:
-
Requires a Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in a related field or must obtain a Master's Degree within four (4) years from the start date in the job.
Experience:
-
Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible clinical experience within the service line that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience must include demonstrated leadership ability, preferably in a related management position in a healthcare setting.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.

Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required upon hire.
-
ACLS, PALS, ATNC, or other certifications may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Must have demonstrated competence in service line management, streamlining, and coordinating clinical services beyond traditional discipline boundaries and department-specific performance improvement, including integrating clinical, quality, and financial outcomes.

Requires experience facilitating and implementing a strategic planning process with specific outcomes.

Must have previously demonstrated experience in leading a successful change process with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians and healthcare providers and demonstrated knowledge of managing and meeting budget outcomes.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team.

Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time, and other resources to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.

Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills and utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control, and coordinate activities.

Must manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively.

Must demonstrate ability to be self-directed and excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff, and senior leadership.
