Under the direction of the Manager Budget & Financial Reporting, the Sr Financial Analyst has responsibility for development, maintenance, integration, improvements, design, build, test and implementation of reports and reporting systems. This position takes on a lead role in mentoring, developing junior analysts and educates others on best practices. In addition, this position aids in the development and maintenance of data governance standards. Based on acquired business and data knowledge, this position is able to assist end users on how to interpret data and results to drive business decisions. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating and modifying reports; troubleshooting issues; and designing, building, testing and implementing reports, reporting interfaces and solutions. Provides subject matter expertise to translate data into information and actionable knowledge. Provides financial analysis support to department managers and senior management with information on all areas of revenue and costs. This position assists the Manager Budget & Financial Reporting and the Controller with establishing, maintaining and improving all management reporting systems. The position actively participates in the annual budget and cost allocation processes. Additionally, the position performs complex queries and writes complex reports to assist in financial analysis, audit requests, survey preparation and other informational requests. This position will participate in special projects, preparing management and financial data as necessary.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience:
-
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible decision support or financial analysis-related experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prefer experience in the healthcare industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must be skilled in Microsoft Office products (including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access).

Thorough knowledge of general accounting, cost accounting, and information systems is required, in a healthcare or hospital setting.

Must possess solid analytical skills that can translate the analysis into effective troubleshooting and problem resolution, frequently exercising independent technical judgment.

Requires the ability to simultaneously support multiple applications

Must be able to maintain accountability for the timely resolution of specific issues and problems within a particular area, application, database, technology, or system.

Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with independent judgment.

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (including Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel) and have experience in database queries/management and report writing.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; and have the ability to multi-task and have flexibility due to changing priorities.

Must have the ability to collect and analyze complex data; and the ability to perform workflow analysis and translate the outcome into easy-to-follow conclusions.

Must have working knowledge of reporting and query tools, SQL, and relational database systems.
