Job Description
Facility: Valleywise Behavioral Health Center - Mesa
Department: BH Unit 2 Adolescent - Mesa
Schedule: Regular FT 36 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Nights

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the HUC plays a vital role in creating a seamless, compassionate, and efficient care environment by serving as the essential link between patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments.
As the first point of contact on hospital units or in the clinic setting, you’ll bring professionalism, poise, and strong organizational skills to a role that blends patient interaction with critical behind-the-scenes coordination.
What You’ll Do:

Serve as the primary liaison between patients, clinical teams, and support departments-ensuring smooth communication and a positive experience for all

Greet and assist patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and care

Perform a variety of administrative duties, including typing, filing, data entry, and managing phone communications

Maintain and order supplies, monitor patient movement, and track consults, STAT orders, and workflows to support clinical efficiency

Assist with special projects and unit needs as directed by nursing leadership

Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88
This is a night shift opportunity. The night shift pay differential will be paid at 18% of the employee's base rate of pay.
Qualifications
Education:

Prefers a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
-
Requires completing an approved health unit coordinator/secretary program or one (1) year of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Specialized Training:
-
Must complete Valleywise Health computer classes.
Certification/Licensure:
-
NAHUC certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office.

Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.

Requires excellent communication and time management skills.
-
Knowledge of electronic medical records is helpful for the role.

Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.

Bilingual is preferred.
