As a Leave Specialist, you’ll serve as the go-to expert for managing leaves of absence and workplace accommodations. In this highly impactful role, you’ll guide employees and leaders through often sensitive situations-such as medical leaves, disability accommodations, and protected absences-ensuring a smooth process that balances individual needs with organizational priorities.
You’ll be at the center of:
- Administering all leave and accommodation programs, including FMLA, ADA, USERRA, PWFA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Managing the full leave lifecycle-from eligibility and documentation to tracking, communication, and return-to-work coordination.
- Facilitating ADA accommodation requests and engaging in the interactive process to support employee needs and ensure compliance.
- Partnering with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and leadership while maintaining secure records, providing training, and delivering meaningful insights through reporting.

Hourly Pay Rate: $27.00 - $39.83
Qualifications
Education or equivalency:
- Must meet one of the following combinations of Education and Experience:
- Requires a High School Diploma and must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leave or accommodation administration experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities or
- A Bachelor’s Degree and must have a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible leave or accommodation administration experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prefer experience supporting a high-volume customer base within a healthcare setting.
Certification/Licensure:
- Prefer Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), PHR, SPHR, or other World at Work or SHRM designation.
- Prefer completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/Leave Administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and related federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (or similar software).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; approachable and a good listener.
- Demonstrates professionalism, enthusiasm, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Creative, independent thinker with the ability to develop, implement, and maintain policies and processes.
- Collaborative and respectful team player with a positive, adaptable attitude toward change.
