Job Description
Facility: Valleywise Health Medical Center
Department: Employee Health & Wellness
Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Days
Under the guidance of the department director or designee, this position manages the functions and activities of the system wide employee health and wellness program; acts as a liaison, resource, consultant and subject matter expert to the organization and other agencies on matters pertaining to employee health and safety; and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, county, and local regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Nursing or other healthcare related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience:
- Must have minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Requires prior supervisory/management experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
Specialized Training:
- None.
Certification/Licensure:
- Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association.
- Must have a valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license; or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
- Prefer advanced certification as an Occupational Health Nurse, such as a COHN, issued by the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
- Must be approachable, people oriented, and a good listener.
- Must be a change agent able to develop, implement and maintain policies and processes.
- Requires the ability to be a creative, independent thinker.
- Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, customer service, and enthusiasm, combined with the ability to build relationships with business and key stakeholders.
- Must possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control and coordinate activities.
- Must have knowledge of Workers’ Compensation claims management, including AZ Workers’ Compensation Regulations and OSHA standards.
- Requires subject matter expertise in communicable diseases and other regulations that impact on employee health.
- Requires ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
Salary Range: Hourly pay rate: $39.96 to $58.94
