Department: BH First Episode Center - E Valley
Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

As a Clinical Medical Assistant in one of our FQHC or CHC locations, you’ll be a key member of a multidisciplinary team that serves patients from newborn to geriatric, providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.
Working under the clinical direction of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, or Physician Assistants, and the operational guidance of the Clinic Manager, you’ll help ensure each patient receives timely, respectful, and meaningful care-whether you’re assisting in the back office or greeting patients at the front desk.
What You’ll Do:

Deliver age-specific, hands-on patient care in collaboration with clinical providers

Perform vital signs, rooming, specimen collection, immunizations, and basic procedures

Support front office duties such as scheduling, check-in/out, patient education, and electronic documentation

Serve as a trusted liaison between patients and the care team, enhancing communication and improving patient experience

Provide administrative and technical assistance to keep the clinic running smoothly and efficiently

Demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability in serving a diverse, community-based population

Promote cost-effective, team-based healthcare that puts patients first

Hourly Pay Range: $18.24 - $26.90
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Requires graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants or Valleywise Health approved course.
Experience:
- Prefer at least one (1) year of relevant related experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
Certification/Licensure:
- Incumbents hired into this position must be eligible to sit for one of the following certification exams:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification issued by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification issued by American Medical Technologists (AMT) or
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) issued by the National Health Career Association (NHA).
- A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required at the time of hire.
- Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
- Behavioral Health Departments: Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member’s scope of practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
- Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
