Rehabilitation Therapist - Empowering Patients to Thrive

At Valleywise Health, our Rehabilitation Therapists are passionate about helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Under the guidance of the Clinical Supervisor of Rehab, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through their recovery journey following burns, injuries, illnesses, or other debilitating conditions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate, plan, and implement personalized treatment programs tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals.

  • Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities that promote healing, strength, and mobility.

  • Teach patients and families strategies to support recovery and independence beyond the clinical setting.

  • Fit, train, and assist patients with splints, orthotics, and adaptive equipment to enhance function.

  • Support patients in regaining essential daily skills such as mobility, dressing, and grooming.

  • Collaborate with aftercare services to ensure seamless transitions and continued progress post-treatment.

  • Continuously monitor progress, adjusting treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of zero to one (0-1) year of clinical OT experience in inpatient and outpatient services (therapy school experience acceptable).
  • Must have forty (40) hours of AZ Burn Center orientation with burn occupational therapist(s), or have at least 1 year of burn experience within the last 5 years.

Specialized Training:

  • None

Certification/Licensure:

  • A current or temporary Arizona state Occupational Therapy licensure is required.
  • Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff members.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet designated deadlines is required.


Salary Range: Hourly rate: $39.96 - $58.94
