Job Description
Facility: Valleywise Health Medical Center
Department: Patient Attendant - Roosevelt
Schedule: Regular FT 36 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Days
As a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA), you play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for patients across all ages-from pediatrics to geriatrics-who require continuous observation. Working under the guidance of a Nurse Manager and Registered Nurse, you’ll be a compassionate presence at the bedside, ensuring patients at risk of self-harm, confusion, or injury receive the attention and protection they need.
Assigned through the Internal Resource Pool, you’ll float between units as needed, becoming an essential part of diverse care teams. Whether monitoring a suicidal patient, someone with cognitive impairment, or a child in an unsecured setting, your vigilant presence helps prevent incidents and ensures timely communication with medical staff.
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00 - $22.13
Qualifications
Education:
-
Prefers a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Experience:
-
Prefer prior experience as a patient safety attendant in a hospital, nursing home or home care setting to medical or behavioral needs patients.

Prefer one (1) year of hospital experience as a patient care assistant or patient safety attendant.
Specialized Training:
-
Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.

Must successfully complete EVE training within six months.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Bilingual is preferred.

Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people. Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.

Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
