Department: Burn Emergency - Roosevelt

Schedule: Regular FT 36 Hours Per Week

Shifts: Nights

As a Burn Emergency Nurse at Valleywise Health, you will play a key role in providing skilled, age-specific, and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Under the direction of a Nurse Manager or the Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), you’ll collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs, administer medications, develop and implement care plans, and respond to a variety of healthcare situations with clinical expertise and empathy. You’ll act as a strong patient advocate and health educator while ensuring care aligns with Valleywise Health policies and evidence-based practices. Your role also includes completing thorough documentation, indirectly supervising ancillary staff as needed, and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care. This position calls for strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and a commitment to delivering safe, cost-effective, and culturally responsive healthcare in a dynamic environment. Hourly Pay Rate: $34.15 - $50.37
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must successfully complete the Valleywise Health New Graduate RN training program or have prior acute nursing experience demonstrating an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • A BLS card must be obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
    • Burn Unit Emergency: Must have ACLS and PALS upon hire or transfer. Must obtain ABLS within one (1) year.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
