What You’ll Do:

  • Provide expert nursing care that is age-specific, compassionate, and tailored to each patient’s needs.

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans while administering medications and performing all aspects of patient care.

  • Serve as a patient advocate and educator, ensuring patients and families are informed and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

  • Delegate and coordinate care in alignment with Valleywise Health policies, promoting safety and efficiency.

  • Lead by example by mentoring and indirectly supervising ancillary personnel to enhance team performance.

  • Actively participate in team building and quality improvement initiatives to drive innovation and best practices.

  • Demonstrate professional growth through leadership activities and contributions to advancing nursing practice.

Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health then must have at least one (1) year of Valleywise Health experience as a RN and be in good standing.
  • Previous acute care hospital experience in the area he or she is applying for is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, a temporary AZ RN license, or a valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice:
    • OR (other than Peoria): CNOR certification is preferred. Must obtain ACLS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
