Advanced Clinical Nurse
Empowering patient care through expertise, collaboration, and leadership

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive DON, Ambulatory, the Advanced Clinical Nurse delivers professional, skilled, and age-appropriate nursing care in partnership with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role encompasses the full scope of patient care-conducting assessments, administering medications, identifying nursing needs, and developing individualized care plans.

You’ll provide or delegate care in alignment with Valleywise Health policies, while also serving as a patient advocate and educator. Responsibilities include completing accurate documentation, offering indirect supervision to ancillary staff, and actively engaging in team collaboration and quality improvement efforts.

This position reflects advanced clinical proficiency and leadership, supporting accessible, cost-effective, and impactful care in a culturally diverse healthcare environment. Additionally, the Advanced Clinical Nurse plays a key role in advancing nursing practice by participating in quality initiatives and demonstrating ongoing professional development.

Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
    • PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must obtain TCAR and PCAR within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.  
  • Bilingual is preferred.  
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.  
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer. 
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
