Position: Advanced Clinical Nurse - Ambulatory Services

Are you a skilled and experienced nurse ready to take your practice to the next level? Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Executive Director of Nursing (Ambulatory), the Advanced Clinical Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, age-specific care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

What You’ll Do:
As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you'll provide expert nursing care while also helping to lead initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and drive clinical excellence. Your responsibilities include:

  • Delivering comprehensive patient care-from assessments and medication administration to developing and managing care plans

  • Collaborating closely with physicians, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, patient-centered care

  • Advocating for patients and serving as an educator and resource throughout their care journey

  • Delegating and overseeing care provided by ancillary personnel in accordance with Valleywise Health policies

  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation

  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and team-building efforts

  • Demonstrating leadership and a commitment to advancing nursing practice through mentorship, education, and process improvement

Hourly Pay Rate: $35.52 - $52.39
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
  • Must have at least one (1) year of recent acute care hospital RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, or if completed the New Grad RN program at Valleywise Health, must have at least one year of Valleywise Health experience as an RN and be in good standing.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.
  • Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • Requires a BLS card obtained through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
  • In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
    • PreOp/PACU (Other than Peoria): Must obtain ACLS and PALS within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer. Must obtain TCAR and PCAR within ninety (90) days of hire or transfer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.  
  • Bilingual is preferred.  
  • Must have excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.  
  • Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer. 
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
