Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

Under the direction of the Director Professional Practice and Service Excellence, this position is responsible for creating a culture of learning and clinical excellence through supporting programs that foster clinical and professional growth supporting our mission of exceptional care.  Responsibilities include the initiation, development, evaluation and ongoing assessment of onboarding programs and competency assessment to meet organizational needs and regulatory requirements.  Ensures ongoing professional development for nursing and identified allied health clinical staff including programs to meet ‘grow our own’ and professional advancement strategies; promotes interdisciplinary learning.  Ensures educational standards are adhered to and documentation is up-to-date.  Promotes innovation in learning methods and reports education outcomes and impact on business needs.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Nursing; or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a national nursing clinical specialty certification at time of hire.

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Prior experience must include two (2) years as clinical educator in a healthcare setting.
  • Requires prior supervisory/management experience.  

Specialized Training:

  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training or higher required within 12 months of hire.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license; temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.  Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
  • A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is required within 3 months.
  • National certification in professional development or nursing clinical specialty preferred if not used to meet education requirement. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability as a role model, mentor, educator, coach, innovator and advocate for the professional nurse.
  • Expertise in leading training and education programs.
  • Must be able to work with multiple professions using a team approach to accomplish assigned projects.
  • Must have ability to facilitate projects, fostering a goal-oriented environment of rapid change, collaboration and achieving outcomes.
  • Ability to network outside of the organization to identify best practices and benchmark performance. 
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.


Salary Range: Hourly rate: $43.22 - $63.75
