As a Billing Supervisor in the Patient Financial Services Department, you will work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals dedicated to our mission "To provide exceptional care, without exception, every patient, every time." The Billing Supervisor supports this mission by maintaining an efficient daily operational workflow with patient-related billing for all payer types. This position also provides support to the Department Manager, assist in trend analysis, problem identification, and resolution. Valleywise Medical Center is a Level One Trauma Center which opened in 2024.

Annual Salary Range: $53,996.80 - $79,643.20
 
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Prefer an Associate's degree in a related field.
Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years' of progressively responsible billing and/or collection of medical claims experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Prefer one to three (1-3) years experience in billing and/or collection experience.

  • Must have the ability to supervise and coordinate the work of subordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
  • Must be approachable, people oriented, and a good listener.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be a change agent able to develop, implement and maintain policies and processes.
  • Requires the ability to be a creative, independent thinker.
  • Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism, customer service, and enthusiasm.
  • Must possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be computer literate (Word and Excel).
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple complex projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management skills, mentoring and leadership skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate competency in all aspects of billing/collecting rules and regulations for all payers in order to direct, plan, schedule and organize work.
  • Requires the ability to work independently on established policies and procedures within the department.
