Facility: Valleywise Health Medical Center

Department: Internal Transport Services

Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

Shifts: Days

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, this position is responsible for supervision, direction, and monitoring a variety of assigned tasks within the department.  This position is responsible for the coordination of shift activities, staff training, and in-service programs to keep Internal Transport staff updated in safe patient movement as well as correct handling of lab specimens, blood gases and equipment.





  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.  Associate's degree or higher preferred.


  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of hospital patient transporting experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Prefer prior direct or indirect supervisory experience in a hospital environment.

Specialized Training:

  • Transport tracking system and related devices.

  • Must be able to work weekends or holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to work professionally with all patients, visitors, and staff. 
  • Requires the ability to ensure maximum safety when transporting patients. 
  • Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.  Bilingual preferred.
