Schedule: Per Diem 8 Hours Per Week

Surgical Technologist
Supporting precision, safety, and excellence in every procedure
As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll play a vital role on the surgical team-working under the direction of the Nurse Manager to prepare, support, and assist in a wide range of operations. From setting up and maintaining a sterile environment to anticipating the needs of the surgical team, you’ll be a key player in ensuring each procedure runs smoothly and safely.
In this dynamic role, you'll:

Plan and scrub for various surgical procedures, anticipating surgeon needs before they arise.

Assemble, operate, and troubleshoot both complex and basic surgical equipment.

Monitor sterilizers and oversee sterilization processes to ensure the highest standards of infection control.

Maintain a sterile field and uphold patient safety and well-being at every step.

Work collaboratively with the entire surgical team, providing essential support that helps make positive patient outcomes possible.

.- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have graduated from a vocational program for Surgical Technicians or Technologist. Three (3) years of on-the-job training experience may be accepted in lieu of completion of a vocational program.
Experience:
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible Surgical Tech experience in a multi-specialty complex cases environment that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Prefer three to five (3-5) years' experience with diverse surgical specialties.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) is required and must be maintained.
- Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Requires a BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center within 3 months.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
- Requires specialized knowledge and skills of OR practices.
- Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance and encourage collaborative staff and community relationships.
- Must be able to lead and mentor other staff.
- Must be able to respond quickly and must be familiar with operating procedures in order to have instruments ready for surgeons.
