Department: Vascular Access Nursing - Roosevelt
Schedule: Regular FT 36 Hours Per Week
Shifts: Days
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director Nursing, a RN Vascular Access provides professional skilled age specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. The RN Vascular Access has advanced training and is responsible for initiating, maintaining, and monitoring intravenous therapy access device and serving as a resource to the hospital staff to optimize vascular access therapy for adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients. This position conducts patient assessments and provides recommendations regarding care and provides assistance with departmental activities, quality improvement and development of best practice guidelines in respect to vascular access.
Hourly pay rate: $34.15 to $50.37
Shift: Days
The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at 8% of the employee's base rate of pay.
Qualifications:
Education:

Prefer a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience:
-
Must have at least one (1) year prior RN experience that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Critical care nursing experience is preferred.
Specialized Training:
-
Requires successful completion of a PICC training course with extensive line placement history, short peripheral IV and Midline catheter insertions.

Requires successful completion of training on ultrasound equipment.
-
EKG/Telemetry training course is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice. Must also be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

Requires BLS and ACLS. A BLS and ACLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.

PALS certification will be required within six (6) months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to work with culturally diverse people is a must.

Must have excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.

Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g. formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to be able to successfully navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer.

Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Bilingual is preferred.â‹
